Abstract
We investigate a static, spherically symmetric, and regular gravastar-like configuration in quadratic Gauss–Bonnet gravity, defined by f(R,G)=R+βG2. Rather than assuming the usual three-region structure with separate equations of state, we start from a single smooth geometry and reconstruct the anisotropic matter source required by the modified field equations. The solution is regular at the center and asymptotically flat after a constant rescaling of time, although its exterior is not exactly Schwarzschild. For representative couplings β̄=0,0.5,1,3, the radial metric function stays positive on 0
