Abstract

This paper explores the opportunities and challenges in achieving Just Transition in the agricultural sector, focusing on the critical areas of Climate investments in the field of training and public awareness, policy formulation, and promoting Inclusive sustainable livelihoods for the most affected groups, namely people with disabilities. It highlights the current gaps in Climate investments, the need for inclusive and effective policies, and the importance of ways to achieve just integration to reduce Poverty and unemployment rates. The paper proposes actionable solutions to align financial investments, policy frameworks, and Comprehensive practices with the Paris Agreement goals and Glasgow talks (COP26), drawing from expert analyses, case studies, and Suggestions from people with disabilities. These include increasing climate investment through inclusive integration, policy incentives, and capacity building, as well as the importance of focusing on infrastructure, providing universal access to climate information, and developing disaster and emergency response plans for people with disabilities. The case study of India’s UJJWAL Project serves as an opportunity for learning, training, and potential scale-up for Just Green transition and providing financial support to persons with disabilities, necessary to achieve the 2030 capacity building and ACE goals.
