Abstract
this paper aims to study solar energy in Egypt and its potential utilization in solar thermal cooling (absorption technique). The paper includes a detailed proposed solar absorption cooling system for one building located at the British University in Egypt with maximum cooling load of 141.3 ton. A detailed design using a design software (TRNSYS) is introduced to model the system and for optimization. A cost analysis is finally included to compare the overall costs of both the proposed cooling system and the current system.
