Association Between COVID-19 Vaccination and Quality of Life Among University Students

Abstract

The new global condition created by COVID-19 affects every aspect of life, including mental health. The most eagerly awaited resolution is the development of effective vaccination. The goal of this study is to determine the impact of vaccination against COVID-19 on students' quality of life (QOL). Methods: To measure their QOL, university students completed sociodemographic questions and the World Health Organization's Quality of Life (WHOQOLBREF) questionnaire. Results: Among the 510 students who responded to the questionnaire, 365 were vaccinated against COVID-19, whereas 145 were not. Being vaccinated against COVID-19 was associated with a significantly higher overall quality of life. Students who got the COVID-19 vaccination reported a significantly improved overall quality of life compared to students who did not get the vaccine (β = 203, p < .000; 95%CI: -3.8 to -5.03). Students who got the vaccinations had considerably improved quality of life in all dimensions including physical health, psychological health, social connections, and environmental health Conclusion: Being vaccinated against COVID-19 was associated with a significantly higher overall quality of life.
