Abstract
In this paper, the issue is to estimate the possibility for some components of a mechanical systems to perform their mission successfully. In addition, the study aims to estimate the possibility of occurring failures for these components over a future period of time. These possibilities can be estimated by defining the survival and hazard functions that fit the failure data for some of these components. It is assumed that the collected failure data fit the Modified Extended Exponential distribution. The parameters of the distribution are estimated, then the survival and hazard functions are also estimated. Bayesian estimation approach is followed for this purpose and a simulation study is performed to assess the efficiency of the results.
